Interview for Sodsaound

Looking forward to the real subtitles for this but had some fun with the YT auto-caption-and-translate feature in the meantime.

Are these multi-year time lapses or digital manipulations?

EDIT: I have ascertained that these are sequences from the film “Tree of Life” (2011). The trailer may be found here

anonymous asked: why come most video games are racist? They always got bullshit racial caricatures. (I just spelled ‘caricatures’ correctly without having to look it up.)

I think it might be because video games don’t have a lot of time to spend on building characters, and so the wack assholes who write them lean on the laziest and easiest character crutches.

PS. I also do not know shit about video games, so that’s just a guess.

Right on. It’s really strange to see a title Far Cry 3 or Call of Duty where the game is basically ”kill all the minorities” - and then turn around to something like Bioshock Infinite where the you get the “alternative” - a bunch of unsubtly racist/capitalist/cultist ringleaders control the world and the game is basically “rescue all the minorities.” Even with massive budgets and playthrough times they overlook writing and characters.

Bizarrely enough, it seems like Rockstar is one of the only AAA game makers that don’t just have just loose collections of stereotypes but actual characters. That most of them are outlaws, drug lords, corrupt cops, and arms dealers notwithstanding, it does show that games don’t have to be either racist or offensively pandering.

Ernst Haeckel; Artforms of Nature (1904); Stephoidea, Phaeodaria, Acanthophracta, Spumellaria, and Diatomea.

I strongly recommend the print edition.
